2011 VPA Fall Workshop

The 2011 VPA Planning Workshop will take place on Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Gateway Center, 84 Fyfe Drive, Newport, VT 05855.


Complete Streets Workshop Speakers & Schedule

VPA will be welcoming two national experts on Complete Streets, both with a deep commitment and broad experience in working with communities to achieve their livability goals:

Dan Burden - Executive Director of the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute

Gary Toth - Director, Transportation Initiatives with the Project for Public Spaces

The morning session (9:00am-12:00 noon) will include presentations introducing Complete Streets followed by a panel discussion on compliance with Vermont's new complete streets statute.

The afternoon Session, (12:30 – 3:00 pm) will include a tour of nearby streets and field exercise followed by discussion with experts on complete streets design, construction and maintenance.

The workshop will be followed by the annual meeting and reception of the Vermont Planners Association (VPA).
